Gardening is one of my all-time favourite hobbies during the summer months. I love nothing more than spending a few hours getting my hands dirty at the weekend, and taking care of the flowers and the vegetables that I’m growing in my very own space.
Though I’ve learned a lot through reading blogs and books on the subject of gardening, and my knowledge is growing every year, I also hire a gardener from time to time to help me to manage my projects out in the garden. If you’re serious about creating a welcoming outdoor space that can serve as your haven, then I believe you should think about doing the same. Here’s why…
Your garden should bring you joy
It’s so easy for an enjoyable hobby to turn into a burden. This can definitely be the case if you’re spending a lot of time outdoors, but you feel like you aren’t seeing a great deal of progress along the way. A professional gardener can com along and take care of the tasks that you find too draining or difficult, and this means that you can focus solely on the aspects of it that you bring you joy. In the long term, this means that you’re far more likely to stick with your new hobby!
An expert will have all the knowledge that you need
Reading books can be great for expanding your knowledge, but there are some skills that can only be acquired through years of practice and trial and error. If there’s something in particular that you’re struggling with, you could use gardening services to help to get you back on the right track. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask any questions that you might have, and get some guidance for the future.
You can have safety issues taken care of
This one is likely to be important to you if you have pets who regularly use your garden, or if you have small children who enjoy being outside. A gardener is likely to be able to make some changes that will give you peace of mind. These could include making sure that a pond is suitably fenced, for example, or that any poisonous plants are removed and safely disposed of.
Hiring a gardener is one of the best decisions that I’ve made recently, and I plan to continue using a professional to help me in this way. It’s a worthy investment, and I’m also really happy with how it’s making my house look from the outside. It’s tidy, it’s welcoming, and it’s also a space that I can work on in my own time to add those special finishing touches.
Many gardeners will offer one-off and ongoing services, so you can try them out and see how you feel before you make a longer term commitment. Have you ever thought about using a gardener? If so, what worries and concerns do you have about taking the leap? Feel free to ask me any questions that you might have below, and I’ll be happy to share my thoughts and experiences with you!
